Sarah Kate is definitely a talker! The coolest new phrases she has been using recently (& in the appropriate situations!) are ‘thank you’, ‘you’re welcome’ (muckem) and ‘bless you’ (bæss you). This last one might be after a cough or sneeze. She also tells Dude to ‘back up!’ & ‘down’.
SKA is learning her colors, shapes, numbers & letters, too! She counted 2 flowers on her jacket last week & knows that she has 2 socks & 2 shoes. And she’s decided that 3 is ‘her number’. She says ‘ABC’ when she sees the alphabet & recognized ‘Q’ & ‘R’ specifically just a few days ago. (We’re working on verbal, written *&* ASL letters.) She can say/identify a square, a circle (sooku), a triangle, a heart, a star, sun, moon & rectangle (rek u ku). Her favorite colors seem to be white & blue, the two she most consistently id’s correctly.
She is watching/listening very carefully every time we tie her shoes, too; ‘cross, through, pull tight, loop, around, through, pull tight’, (oop, wound, tight).
She still *loves* to dance and she challenges the (steep!) stairs down to our basement whenever she’s allowed…holding the handrail & walking down. (She never did do the ‘back down the stairs on your tummy’ thing…)
